Remembrance Run Hertfordshire
Come and join us for the Hertfordshire Remembrance Run, in support of The Felix Fund and Royal British Legion.
The flat, tarmac racecourse is ideal for a chip timed personal best over the half marathon, 10km and 5km distances.
This is the weekend of Remembrance Day, which is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War 1 and Germany at Compiègne, France, marking the end of the First World War, which took effect at eleven o’clock in the morning — “The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” of 1918.
Remembrance Day (informally known as Poppy Day owes to the tradition of wearing the remembrance poppy), has been observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
The event held in traffic free and private grounds using a 2km and 1km loop around the Drift Limits motor racing circuits. The race will be held under a full UK Athletics race license and is suitable for buggy runners and wheelchairs.
